We are delighted to announce the release, our inaugural vintage of 2011 La Vie Sparkling Wine.
Blanc de Noir Sparkling Wine has been a part of the La Rochelle portfolio for many years. When Jill & I became the stewards of La Rochelle, just prior to the 2013 vintage, our love for Champagne inspired us to expand the selections of Sparkling Wines that we produce.
We love the small “Grower Champagnes” of France and, in the tradition of the Pinot Noirs from La Rochelle, are focusing on small-lot, single vineyard, vintage dated, single varietal Sparkling Wines.
La Vie is the new name, and new look for our family of hand crafted Sparkling Wines.
Over the next few years the family will include:
2011 Blanc de Noir (Pinot Noir) – McIntyre Vineyard – Santa Lucia Highlands – Monterey County
2016 Blanc de Blanc (Chardonnay – Black Knight Vineyard – Bennett Valley – Sonoma Valley
2008 Late Disgorged Blanc de Noir – McIntyre Vineyard – Santa Lucia Highlands – Monterey County
2016 Le Meunier (100% Pinot Meunier) – Van der Kamp Vineyard – Sonoma Mountain
2013 Rosé of Pinot Noir – McIntyre Vineyard – Santa Lucia Highlands – Monterey County
We are delighted to announce that La Vie Blanc de Noir is now available to order. For those of you who placed advanced orders, your bubbles are already on their way to you.
If you haven’t ordered… Order now!
Over half of the first release has been pre-sold to members so order quickly to get your hands on a few bottles for the holidays.
This inaugural release is extremely dry and crisp. Virtually no dosage was added to accentuate the toasty brioche and yeast that developed during the 3-½ years en tirage.
Just a few of many quotes about Champagne....
"Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe.
Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye.”
― Dorothy Parker, The Complete Poems of Dorothy Parker
“Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald
“Champagne is a condiment to my day.” Our Personal Favorite!
― Steven K. Mirassou
