2011 Recherché Reserve Pinot Noir - Freestone Hill Vineyard

Located just outside the town of Freestone on the outskirts of the Russian River Valley, this hillside vineyard is a true gem. The Cleary family chose to plant in a cold site, taking the risk of the grapes not ripening fully in the coldest years. The resulting wines have a depth of character that can only develop when grapes are grown on the edge of what's possible.

The 2011 Freestone Hill Pinot Noir is the perfect example of what is possible when grapes ripen extremly slowly on hillside, coastal conditions. Every flavor Pinot Noir has to offer is present in this wine in subtle doses.
