Yamhill-Carlton District (Willamette Valley)
GRAN MORAINE VINEYARD
This young vineyard planted in the Yamhill-Carlton District appellation north of the town of McMinnville and is comprised of about 180 acres of Pinot Noir and 29 acres of Chardonnay divided into 83 blocks (ranging in size from 1.0 to 3.5 acres). Planted in mostly sedimentary marine soil (Willakenzie series), we harvested just one ton of Pommard clone Pinot Noir in 2009, our first year of getting fruit from Gran Moraine.
